At Acton Gardens Primary School, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life. Our Early Years team provides a caring, creative, and stimulating environment where children feel happy, valued, and eager to learn. We focus on building strong foundations in learning and social skills, helping each child grow in confidence and curiosity.
We know that parents play a vital role in their child’s education, and we value the strong partnerships we build with our families. We work closely with families to celebrate every child’s uniqueness and ensure they thrive from their very first day. Through play, exploration, and meaningful experiences, we nurture a lifelong love of learning and prepare our children to face the future with confidence, kindness, and resilience.
At Acton Gardens Primary School, our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum lays the essential foundations for your child’s future learning journey. Rooted in the seven areas of learning and development, we offer a dynamic, play-based curriculum that encourages exploration, discovery, and imagination.
Each day, children take part in adult-led sessions, including daily phonics and focused lessons in maths or literacy,
Children enjoy free access to both indoor and outdoor classrooms including a forest school area and pond, where independence, confidence, and curiosity are nurtured through meaningful experiences and enhanced provision.
Our fluid planning ensures all areas of the curriculum are woven together to meet each child’s needs, deepening understanding across reading, writing, and mathematics.
We place a strong emphasis on emotional well-being, respect, and kindness, celebrating diversity and promoting a sense of belonging. By fostering independence and a love of learning from the very start, we prepare our young learners to face future challenges with confidence, creativity, and resilience.
We have a Nursery class offering both 15 or 30 funded hours at our Nursery and, if you should require additional hours, you can make the additional payment.
Our Reception classes open at 8.35 (soft start) to begin at 8.45 a.m. Collection is at 3.15 p.m. Wrap Around Care is offered through external provider Aktiva.
