School Clubs

Introduction

At Acton Gardens Primary School, we take pride in offering our pupils the chance to take part in a range of extra-curricular activities. These activities vary from sporting activities (Football, Cricket and Dance) to creative activities (Cooking, Arts and Crafts, Drama production and Sewing and Knitting)

Following these extra-curricular activities, we aim for children to represent the school in sporting competitions across Ealing. Competitions such as Football, Tag-Rugby, and Basketball as well as inclusive sports such as Sitting Volleyball and Boccia

Extra-curricular clubs are run by staff at AGP l and are free to all children from EYFS to Year 6

Our fun, energetic, confidence-boosting Street Dance clubs are designed to help your child develop their physical, creative and social skills whilst transforming their dance skills! Children learn a variety of Authentic Street Dance styles including Breaking, Hip Hop, House, Locking and Popping. We use a layered teaching approach to ensure each child is challenged at a suitable level for their current ability, even within a mixed-ability group. Children are introduced to the culture & history of these styles, the groove and feeling, and key foundation moves/techniques. The Classes help children build their: musicality, body awareness, co-ordination & control, individual freestyle skills & personal style and Choreographic skills in partners & groups. Each week we work towards a performance piece which will be performed in the final week. Parents are invited to attend our performances to get the chance to see their child’s newfound skills and boost their confidence
